The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) has asked developers to register their housing projects, which ell under the specified criteria, with it. In an official statement, TNRERA said construction firms and housing plot promoters, who are engaged in construction of more than eight (apartment) units and beyond 500 square metre, must register with the real estate regulator as per the Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017. The rules were notified by the state government on June 22, 2017. The applicants must register their projects on www.tnrera.in. Noting that companies should advertise their housing projects only with the RERA registration number, the statement said action would be initiated against those who don’t adhere to the norms. A total of 269 housing projects in the state have been registered with the TNRERA till December 18.
