Single-window DDA portal on land pooling starts
A single-window online portal to register for Delhi Development Authority’s land pooling was launched on Tuesday. The interface on DDA’s website is to enable owners of contiguous land parcels of any size falling in planning zones K-1, L, N and P-II to register. The portal provides a user-friendly platform containing all the information with zone-wise maps, applicable charges, general guidelines and instructions. It was launched by Union minister for housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, who said the private sector will play an active role in assembling land and developing physical and social infrastructure. “This is in contrast to the prevalent policy of large-scale land acquisition by DDA. Under the new policy, the role of DDA will be that of a facilitator and planner,” he said. DDA vice-chairman Tarun Kapoor said DDA will also set up help desks at different places apart from a field office in Narela. Areas under five zones will be developed, which in total will have 109 sectors. Puri said once the policy is implemented and land developed, it will produce 17 lakh houses for 76 lakh people.
