Seven booked for illegal selling of Cidco land

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) authorities have lodged two cases against seven realtors for illegally demarcating plots on Cidco land and selling them. According to sources, in order to put a check on illegal construction going on in its limits, Cidco authorities have started taking cognizance of every input and written complaint on priority basis. In two cases, registered at MIDC Cidco police station on Thursday, the suspects have been booked under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Town planning Act, 1966 and for criminal trespass. In the first complaint, Cidco official GajananSatote (52) said stated that between November and December 2018, four suspects demarcated four different pieces of land situated in gat number 5 of Shekapur and illegally sold them. He added that the suspects neither took any permission nor informed the Cidco before demarcating on its land, resulting in to criminal trespass. In the second offence registered against three realtors, prime land in gat number 217 of Teesgaon was demarcated and sold. Meanwhile, Cidco authorities have launched an all-out drive against those involved in illegal construction, demarcation of land in its jurisdiction, resulting in registration of over half a dozen cases in the recent few months.
