SCDRC orders police to issue warrant against Unitech Universal for delay
The West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, presided by Samaresh Prasad Chowdhury, has directed the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate to issue non-bailable warrants against five directors of Bengal Unitech Universal Infrastructure Pvt Ltd for the company’s failure to refund money received from Devajit Mitra and Sudarshana Sen Mitra for a flat at Uniworld City in Kolkata. The commission passed this direction after the company failed to obtain a stay from the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The state panel had earlier directed the company to repay the complainants Rs 41.9 lakh with 10% interest and pay a litigation cost of Rs 20,000.
