The district administration has published the rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) report on land acquisition for Jewar airport. Notices for land acquisition will be issued to farmers once the state government approves the report, officials said. The R&R report basically details about the value of household assets and properties. This also includes the value of standing crops, cattle, cattle shed, house, shops, etc. Balram Singh, ADM (land acquisition), GautamBudh Nagar, said, “The administration will send the report to state government within a week. The government will review it and give a final nod. The farm owners will be given one month to share feedback/grievances before the acquisition process starts.” The district administration has prepared the report after conducting door-to-door survey of 5,926 land owners in the area. The final compensation constitutes farming land’s compensation and the value of assets. The government has already decided the farming land’s acquisition price at Rs 2,300 per square metre. Once approved, the ADM said, the administration will serve notices on farm owners for land acquisition. The district administration has also identified land on Jewar-Tappal road for rehabilitation of farmer owners. However, local farmers demanded that they be rehabilitated in adjacent Dudhera village on Kishorepur-Jewar road. “We want to be relocated to the nearest place so that we can get urban facilities after the project is developed,” said Ajay Pratap Singh, president of Jewar Airport KisanSangharshSamiti.
