Real estate in Ahmedabad remains stable
The housing sector in Ahmedabad differs strikingly from those in other major Indian cities in that, over the last one decade or so, it has been able to maintain a steady single digit growth. In other cities like Pune or Bangalore, realty prices have both skyrocketed and come crashing down during the same period. Realtors are of the opinion that the Ahmedabad market is more mature than in other cities where price fluctuations and frequent phases of growth and downturns create consumer anxiety and market stress. The weighted average price of residential units in Ahmedabad is Rs 3,219 per square foot which is the lowest among eight major cities of the country.
