Private equity investment in real estate drops
Private equity investments in real estate have declined 30% from a year ago to 48 transactions worth nearly $2.5 billion in the first nine months of 2016. During the same period in 2015, the investment stood at $4.2 billion across 69 transcations. Private Equity-Real Estate firms made 20 investments--having an announced value of $1.01 billion across 16 deals--during the quarter ended Sep 2016. Projects in western India accounted for 12 deals, followed by south with six deals and north with two deals.
