Plot worth Rs 2,000 crore highlight of Huda's auction plan in Gurugram
In a bid to generate revenue it badly needs, cash-strapped Huda is holding e-auctions for 13 commercial sites in the city collectively worth around Rs 5,000 crore. Out of these, 11 properties have a reserve price of over Rs 200 crore each, and one single property has a reserve base price of Rs 2,038 crore. Much to the disappointment of the authorities, however, no bidders had registered till Tuesday for the 20.46-acre prime land, which is located in Sector 47, revealed sources. Even the security amount for this site is over Rs 40.7 crore. The registration for the plot closes at 5pm on Friday. The e-auctions will be conducted by Huda in two parts. In the first round, the Sector 47 plot, a corner plot of 6,860sqm in Sector 29 and a 23sqm plot with a single-storey corner booth and basement in Sector 39 will be e-auctioned. The reserve prices for these properties have been set at Rs 2,038 crore, Rs 229 crore and Rs 8.41 lakh, respectively. Registrations opened on October 24 and will close on Friday, Huda officials said. The e-auction will be conducted on November 27 between 9am and 2pm. The Sector 47 plot is one of the prime properties owned by Huda. A 9.83-acre plot adjacent to it was purchased by Swedish furniture giant IKEA last year at a record price of Rs 842 crore. In fact, IKEA had asked Huda to sell the adjacent plot too earlier this year, but the authority turned down the request insisting that the land would be auctioned. Incidentally, the site bought by IKEA was put up for e-auction three times but had no takers until October 2017, when IKEA finally participated and bought it. At the time, it was the biggest deal struck by Huda. The next round of e-auction will be conducted in December 18 this year, in which 10 commercial sites located in Sector 29 will be put up.Each of these plots have an area of 7,820 sqm and the reserve price has been set at Rs 269 crore.Registration for these sites will open on November 23 and e-auction will be conducted on December 18.
