Plot buyers in illegal colonies of Gurugram to face action
Apart from developers, property dealers and agents, even buyers will now face action for the development of illegal colonies. Till now, FIRs used to be registered only against the developer, but the department of town and country planning (DTCP) has now decided to book plot buyers as well to check unplanned development in Gurgaon. DTCP has started installing notice boards at these illegal colonies to warn people from investing there, as it can also land them in jail. So far more than 50 such boards have been installed in Sohna, Bhondsi, Badshapur, Sultanpur and other areas in the city. The notice board informs people that the colony has been developed without approval from the department and is illegal. “If any land owner removes the board installed by the department, an FIR will be registered against him/her,” said district town planner (DTP) RS Batth adding that till now only developers were booked, but the rule has a provision that allows the department to take action against the property dealer, agents and even buyers. Batth added that the mushrooming of illegal colonies will stop if people stop investing there.
