Pimpri Chinchwad civic body to survey unassessed properties
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to launch a drive to identify unassessed properties in the jurisdictions of two of its divisional offices. Joint PCMC commissioner Dilip Gawde, who also heads the property tax department, said, the move would increase the civic body's income from property tax. On a pilot basis, students of the PCMC-run industrial training centre for girls in Kasarwadi will be roped in to survey the properties. They will be paid Rs 20 per property under the 'earn and learn' scheme. It is to be conducted under the supervision of an assistant zonal officer. The students will be accompanied by a group clerk/chief clerk.
