Over 3,500 avail online land registry facility in Ludhiana
In a bid to bring transparency and convenience for the residents, the online land registry facility is now fully operational in all 15 sub-registrar offices of Ludhiana district. Appointments for the same are now being made online. Deputy commissioner, Pradeep Agrawal made the announcement adding that the facility, which had been started from June 22, has benefited 3,536 applicants till date. Agrawal also said, “Now, the applicants dont have to wait in long queues or visit the sub-registrar offices again and again. This system would help them save time and energy. Details regarding stamp duty and registry fees can also be sought using this portal. The applicants can now apply online for land registry through www.igrpunjab.gov.in. It was observed that sometimes the witness used to turn hostile, but with the start of this system, the attendance of seller, buyer or witness will be marked using biometric system. He said very soon, the computerised land record data would be linked with this system, after which cases of faulty land registries will end.” The deputy commissioner further stated residents can avail the facility on any day of the week and on any given point of time. It was added that no registry is being done without online registration. He informed that with the help of National Generic Document Registration System, the required stamp duty, fee and other costs are also calculated online and with the start of this system, resident’s dependance on deed writers has also decreased considerably.
