On the run, Alcon developers leave behind complaints

An unfinished clubhouse, seepage in ducts housing sewage and water pipes as well as in brackets for air conditioning, and collapsing slabs of terraces in individual apartments — the woes at Alcon Silverleaf, a residential complex at Keshavnagar in Mundhwa, are unending. But, beleaguered residents have no one to turn to for resolution as developers of the property are either arrested or absconding, since the retaining wall of their Kondhwa property collapsed during the deluge in June last year. The society comprising three buildings is home to 100 families, who moved in between five and three years ago. What makes their situation particularly desperate is the fact that every homebuyer had made a three-year advance payment for the maintenance of the property to the missing developers. “They took an advance on maintenance for three years from everyone. But now that they’ve either been arrested or are absconding, there is nobody to take on this task at our society and the neglect is beginning to show — rather dangerously so,” Sashi Anand, one of the residents, told
