Odisha government seeks action taken report on DQ allotments
The state government on Friday asked the development authorities in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) to furnish action taken report on implementation of the task force report on multiple allotment of plot/flat/house in the twin cities under the discretionary quota (DQ). In a letter to vice-chairpersons of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and OSHB, principal secretary of the state general administration department, AK Meena expressed displeasure over their non-response on the issue. Stating that the chief secretary would review the implementation status of the task force report soon, Meena asked the development authorities and OSHB to furnish details in seven days. Sources in the state housing and urban development department said total 1,791 discretionary allotments were made (between 1995 and 2011) including 803 by BDA, 921 by CDA and 67 OSHB. Among them, 54 persons were allotted multiple properties.
