Notice to Mayfield RWAs on common governing body
The state registrar of societies on Friday served showcause notice to four neighbouring RWAs in Block N, Mayfield Gardens, Sector 51, for violating Haryana Registration and Regulation of Society (HRRS) Act, 2012. The Act stipulates there can’t be multiple RWAs in the same area, and that only a common governing body will manage the facilities. The RWAs have been given 15 days to respond, failing which they could face stern action. The district registrar of societies Ishwar Singh said, “Multiple societies in the same designated area creates a lot of problems for residents. Regular disputes arise among RWAs regarding maintenance of common areas, facilities and finances.” State registrar Jaideep Kapoor said, “There can’t be multiple RWA as per HRRS Act. But many of them are continuing to operate, so punitive action will be taken against them.”
