Noida homebuyers to protest over delay
Fearing that demonetisation could further add to the existing delays in possession of their homes, homebuyers have called for a mass demonstration in front of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority office on December 23. People waiting for possession of their homes for long have now hit the edge of patience, as the cash crunch has hit almost all realty projects, said Shweta Bharti, general secretary of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (Nefowa). “Everyone was aware of how the builders were rolling money in the market, but suddenly post demonetization, all their work has stopped because they cannot use their unaccounted money any more. We are already burdened with our home loans, with rents. Why are the buyers being victimised?” she questioned.
