NOC for workers may be mandatory for building permission plans
The labour commissioner has proposed the mandatory inclusion of a no-objection certificate for workers’ safety in any building permission plan approved by a local authority. The building permission plan is granted by the local authority — municipal corporation, municipal council, zilla parishad, collectorate, or metropolitan regional development authority. The labour commissioner has proposed adding a clause ensuring the safety and security of construction workers to the undertaking by developers before they get the green light for the project. Labour commissioner Rajeev Jadhav said they will soon forward the proposal to the state urban development department.
