PNB scam accused businessman Nirav Modi’s luxury bungalow in Alibaug is going to be demolished by the office of the district Collector of Raigad. The demolition will be carried out through a controlled explosion using over 100 dynamites. Authorities say, the over 30,000 sq ft luxury bungalow is being demolished as it violated the Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ) norms and state permits as well. Not just the bungalow, even the garden outside Nirav Modi’s villa, reportedly fell under the CRZ. Suryavanshi added that, “The entire structure is unauthorised because it falls under CRZ and they also violated Maharashtra Regional Town planning (MRTP) Act.” Efforts to demolish the bungalow, that’s located on Kihim beach, have been going on for over a month now. However, even the heavy machinery used for demolition has not been enough to make a dent in the strong foundation of the villa. To speed up the process, authorities are now carrying out a controlled explosion. Workers have been drilling holes in the pillars of the building to plant the dynamites in them.
