Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Wednesday said that a five-member committee has been put into place to have the Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) for the sanctioned international airport at Jewar. The committee will be assisted by YEIDA’s consultant Ernest & Young in preparing the TEFR in the next 45 days.

According to YEIDA officials, they have decided to put into place a new and updated TEFR and Detailed Project Report (DPR). A DPR and feasibility report was initially initiated by consultant Larsen & Toubro & Ramboll in 2007. “We will now prepare a new feasibility report and DPR, which will be forwarded to the state government,” said Arun Vir Singh, CEO, YEIDA.

Meanwhile, YEIDA has also hired four companies to carry out the survey of the land to be acquired for the airport project in the first phase. “These companies are carrying out the survey with the help of drones across eight villages identified for the purpose,” said Singh. “We expect a report within a week,” he added. “We are also expecting funds from the state government to carry out the process of land acquisition. We are leaving no stone unturned in expediting the project and putting it on track,” the CEO said.
