Appreciating builders for contributing to the housing sector by constructing buildings of several lakh square feet in and around the city, MP K. Haribabu said the city still has huge potential for further development of real estate. Addressing the curtain-raiser function of Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India on its real estate expo from December 23, he said taking up a new highway and the Sheelanagar road would further boost construction. Responding to issues raised by CREDAI, Andhra Pradesh Chairman K. Subba Raju in respect of RERA and GST, Mr. Haribabu said if any specific issue was brought to his notice, he would take it up with the highest authority concerned and see that it was solved, he said. Acknowledging that real estate sector was beset with several problems, BJP MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju assured CREDAI that he would take up their problems with the government. Mr. Subba Raju said real estate sector had been going through difficult time because of RERA, GST and de-monetisation and urged the MP to see whether amendments could be brought to the Acts. CREDAI president Peela Koteswara Rao gave details of how the property expos had been growing from strength to strength. Former Chairman K. Ramakrishna Rao said the show would be organised at the A.U. Engineering College grounds.
