Maharashtra govt to adopt energy conservation building code
Maharashtra is set to adopt the Energy Conservation Building Code to ensure energy-efficient buildings. Vipin Sharma, director general, Maharashtra Energy Development Authority (MEDA), said that the state government will come out with the final operating mechanism for the code, which will be placed in the public domain by May 31 for inviting suggestions from citizens. “Once the code is notified, it will be voluntary for the first six months beyond which, it will be mandatory,” he said at a workshop on the code.
