Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting on Wednesday to review the rehabilitation work and has ordered action to be taken against officials of the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority (MHADA) for providing incorrect information regarding rehabilitation work at Patrachawl, Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon. The meeting was attended by Industry minister Subhash Desai, minister of state for Women and Child Development Vidya Thakur, additional chief secretary, Housing, Sanjay Kumar, vice-president and chief executive officer MHADA Milind Mhaiskar, amongst others. Fadnavis said the developers had delayed the construction of houses for years. “They have not paid the house-rent to the residents of the chawls for a year. MHADA must crack down on the guilty officers, investigate the entire matter and take action,” he said.
