Property registrations across the state this month are picking up after a prolonged lull caused by the various phases of the lockdown since the end of March. Official data for the first eight days of this month show that property registrations in the state — excluding Mumbai — stood at nearly 70% of the daily average in August last year. If one takes the state capital into account, this dips to 67%. As per data available with the Inspector-General of Registrations and Controller of Stamps (IGR) office, around 2,226 properties per day were registered this month across the state, while 3,302 properties were registered per day in August 2019.
