Magarpatta city honoured with FICCI’S Award
Magarpatta Township Development & Construction Company Ltd. for its initiative – Magarpatta City Development has won the prestigious ‘Award for Excellence – City Identity’category at the recently held 3rd Smart Cities Summit 2019- FICCI Smart Urban Innovation Awards in Delhi. This award was for the business problems it was solving through its project and the innovations for the same. Magarpatta City, Pune has also been honoured with ‘Asia’s best first time sustainability report award’ held in Singapore last week. The Asia Sustainability Reporting Awardsrecognise and honour sustainability reporting leaders in Asia. The Awards celebrate best practices in sustainability reporting and communications. CSR Works International, a Singapore-based firm focussed on sustainability consulting, training and thought leadership, has created the non-profit Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards to inspire Asian organisations to adopt sustainability reporting and integrated reporting.Senior business leaders from 13 countries turned up at the exclusive awards ceremony hostedby the British High Commissioner in Singapore H.E. Scott Wightman and held last week. The event was attendedby dignitaries from diverse fields including academia, non-profit, embassies, trade associations and advocacy organisations. A record 82 companies from 14 countries made it to the final round of the 2018 Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards across 17 categories. An independent judging panel decided the awards following rigorous criteria and sifted through nearly 400 entries to select the winners. The awards were presentedby the Guest of Honour Jessica Cheam, managing editor of Eco-Business, The British High Commissioner H.E. Scott Wightman and special guests - DrLawrenceLoh, director of Corporate Governance, Institutions and Organisations at NUS Business School and DrWuHuijuan, Assistant Director, Singapore Institute of International Affairs. This is the first Sustainability Report of Magarpatta Township Development & Construction Company Limited (MTDCCL). The report reflects Magarpatta City's commitment and achievements to foster leadership in sustainability and engage with stakeholders along its supply chain and local communities.Magarpatta City's responsible business practices are depicted across the economic, social and environmental parameters of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2016: Core option. The report boundary is Magarpatta City for the period April 2017 -March 2018 and baseline year is 2015-16.The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)1, New Delhi was engaged to analyse the data and information, develop the strategic intent and design a roadmap for implementation, while the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA)2 - Sustainability Desk acted as the advisor and coordinator to this report.
