The Madras high court has directed the Tamil Nadu DGP to make the process of allotment of government residential quarters to police personnel online within two weeks to bring in more transparency. Justice S M Subramaniam has also directed the DGP to constitute a team of officers to conduct inspections and identify particulars of all illegal and irregular occupants in the quarters and accordingly issue showcause notice to them to vacate the quarters within 60 days.
