Lodha group starts funds for start-ups

Real estate developer Lodha Group has set up an investment fund for startups focused on smart city solutions and the real estate sector. With an initial investment corpus of Rs. 50 crore, the company said it would provide angel funding and venture capital as well as business opportunities and mentoring for these young ventures. “The fund will invest in startups at all stages of the development cycle (and) which are focused on creating value in the real estate and smart city space in India,” a statement said. The fund will look at areas across digital marketing, analytics and smart city services. Abhishek Lodha, MD, Lodha Group said, “Our fund’s philosophy is in line with PM Modi’s three core campaigns - Startup India, Housing for All and Demonetisation.”
