Kerala to set up commission to resolve Waqf properties disputes
The state government is committed to settling the disputes regarding various waqf properties across the state, said Minister for Higher Education and Waqf KT Jaleel. The minister added that the government would appoint a joint survey commission to complete the pending survey activities to settles the dispute. Jaleel minister exuded confidence that the three-member tribunal will help to settle the cases on a fast track basis. He said that that the new tribunal would consider only Waqf related complaints ensuring the speedy disposal of the cases. The three regional tribunals, which were in existence until the formation of the state level tribunal, were considering other cases also causing a delay in the disposal of waqf cases, he said.
