Joint revenue & civic move to untangle land disputes
After having embarked on a land records purification exercise, the state government is now making a serious bid to resolve land disputes in the city. In fact, for the first time, a high level joint meeting of the revenue and municipal administration departments was conducted to resolve land issues in 18 residential colonies in the LB Nagar municipal zone limits. At the meeting, a decision was taken to resolve all the land disputes within a fixed time frame and the success of the exercise largely dependent on the nature of disputes, the government is open to bringing in necessary amendments in Acts and issue GOs if required, said sources. Municipal minister KT Rama Rao, who chaired the meeting, said the government would give top priority to resolving land issues in various colonies, except cases pertaining to Full Tank Level (FTL) of lakes and conservation zones. He said officials will give an action taken report to the government on each issue that was discussed and directed the concerned zonal GHMC commissioner Srinivas Reddy to come up with proposals to construct a sports complex in the 3,200 sq yard vacant plot of land in Green Park colony.
