Himachal Pradesh Rs 51.34 crore Budget for Pucca Homes for Poor

Himachal Pradesh used Rs 51.34 crore budget under "Swarn Jayanti Ashraya Yojana" in the year 2020-21 to build 3,419 pucca houses with basic facilities for poor families that belong to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. Each beneficiary gets Rs 1.5 lakh. The state government said that in order to support the Centre’s objective of housing for all by the end of 2022 and improve the beneficiaries’ standard of living, it had run the scheme even during the Covid-19 pandemic. The families with average annual income below Rs 35,000 get the benefit. Under this scheme, the government gave away Rs 10.36 crore to Kangra district, Rs 7.69 crore to Mandi, Rs 5.55 crore to Shimla, Rs 4.78 crore to Solan, Rs 3.84 crore to Sirmaur, Rs 3.69 crore to Chamba, Rs 3.25 crore to Hamirpur, Rs 3.13 crore to district Una, Rs 2.77 crore to Kullu, Rs 2.74 crore to Bilaspur, and Rs 1.02 crore to Kinnaur. Also, Rs 82 lakh for 54 houses went to Bharmour in Chamba district, Rs 73.50 lakh for 49 houses to Pangi, Rs 33.70 lakh for 22 houses to Dodrakwar in Shimla, and Rs 59 lakh for 39 houses to Lahaul-Spiti.
