Haryana to provide financial assistance to rural families who do not have houses
The Haryana government has decided to provide financial assistance to rural families in the state who neither have their own house nor are in the list of eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY). These families can apply for financial assistance to their respective block development and panchayat officer (BDPO). The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today to review the progress of various important schemes and projects. It was decided that an applicant who wants to get financial assistance would be required to get the application marked either from the gram sarpanch or gram sachiv or member of zila parishad or panchayat samiti or the former sarpanch, an official release said. In the survey conducted by the Development and Panchayats Department, as many as 18,000 eligible beneficiaries were identified under the PMAY scheme and funds have been sanctioned for the construction of houses.
