Haryana Govt to re-launch group housing scheme
The Haryana Government has recently decided to re-launch the Group Housing Scheme (GHS). Under the new scheme, plots of several sizes available in urban estates would be identified. Of the available group housing sites, 75 per cent of them would be included in new scheme of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). The remaining sites would be reserved for colonies for the staff of the state or Central governments. The group housing sites in various urban estates of HUDA would be sold through e-auction to infuse transparency. Going ahead, the new policy marks a sharp turn from the existing policy, under which the cooperative housing societies were allotted land by HUDA after inviting applications and through draw of lots.
