The department of town and country planning (DTCP) on Friday sent notices to 21 builders for not attending a meeting that was organized in Chandigarh on Thursday. The builders have been given a week’s time to reply to the notice. According to the officials, the meeting was called by KM Pandurang, director, town and country planning, Haryana, to discuss the infrastructural problems being faced in sectors 104 and 109 and to find a solution for the same. However, out of the 22 builders, only one showed up for the meeting, following which the notices were issued. “Around 22 builders, who are developing commercial and residential establishments in these two sectors (104 and 109) were asked to attend the meeting. Only one builder attended the meeting. The agenda was to discuss the road related issues in the area and provide solution with a deadline for the same,” officials said. The meeting was called after a BJP spokesperson, Raman Malik, wrote to GMDA CEO V Umashankar to intervene in the matter. “The director of town and country planning has asked the civic agencies to conduct a survey of the two sectors to identify roads that haven’t been built. Action will be taken against builder who do not reply to the notice,” Malik said.
