Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) organized Harit-Jal-Vaayu today at The Leela, Mumbai. The seminar, hosted by Mr. Mihir Sanghavi, Treasurer, ISHRAE Mumbai Chapter, focussed on the seismic advancements in the practices adopted to promote green practices, sustainability, conservation of resources, energy & water efficient practices and innovative technologies to improve indoor environmental quality. The consortium witnessed the presence of eminent speakers representing architects, real estate developers, MEP consultants, corporate decision makers, green product manufacturers and institutions.

The essence of the seminar was to understand and generate awareness in the industry and the society at large about some of the best green practices available. It is integral to conserve natural resources which is the need of the hour, managing plans for natural resources and physical planning documents for nature protection measures and requirements. These include review of protected natural assets, ecologically important areas and particularly valuable landscapes, and guidelines for their protection and conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishal Kapur, National President, ISHRAE said, “30% of the Indian population live in urban areas and this figure is increasing every year and could well touch 50% or 900 million by 2050. This will result in the requirement for building stock to increase multiple times. At a time such as this, we will need to ensure that the growth is responsible and sustainable. Affordable & efficient thermal comfort – water conservation – green buildings are the way forward. A conference like Harit- Jal-Vaayu is a good platform to build awareness and bring forward the solutions and discuss technologies of the future.”

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) is an international associate of ASHRAE and was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. The main objective of ISHRAE was to promote the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry in India.
