MCG’s takeover of private colonies, delayed and stuck at the negotiating table, saw the government offering the developers a new plan, its third, under which those developers who are unable to pay for the pending infrastructure work in their colonies can deposit land banks at their disposal in exchange. Unitech Ltd and Ansal API have been asked to submit lists of their licensed/unlicensed land parcels in Gurugram, after they expressed their inability to pay for pending infrastructure work in their colonies, including Palam Vihar, Sushant Lok 1 and South City 1. While Sushant Lok 1 and Palam Vihar were developed by Ansal API, Unitech developed South City 1. According to officials, DLF (in phases 1, 2 and 3) and Suncity have agreed to complete their pending infrastructure work respectively, but Unitech and Ansal have offered land in lieu of the cost of pending work. “We’ve asked those builders, who are unable to pay for pending infrastructure work in their colonies, to submit a list of their properties in Gurugram. They are expected to reply with details by Monday next, following which, a decision will be taken. These lands will go to MCG, against which the corporation will carry out pending maintenance and repair works in these areas,” said MCG commissioner Yashpal Yadav.
