Gujarat’s realty sector witnessed a stimulating event

Discussions on ‘Housing for All by 2022’ and ‘RERA: A step towards an industry status?’ at the 8th Realty Plus Conclave 2016 on July 01 stroke an instant chord with the real estate fraternity in Ahmedabad. The Conclave not only played a host to a number of noble ideas and intentions being discussed, but also provided much food for thought to the challenges that the realty sector faces in the country today. Panel discussions and questions and answer sessions on crucial aspects like the challenge of achieving affordable housing for all by 2022 and the RERA apart, the overall sentiment of the realty sector representatives was palpable – i.e. to conceive of effective ways to remove the ‘clearance’ bottlenecks and move ahead to meet the target set by 2022. The Conclave got its due dose of vigour with Jaxay Shah, National President Elect, CREDAI and Managing Director, Savvy Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., setting the pace for the evening with his awe-inspiring keynote address. “With the amount of money being pumped into the market today, we can say that ‘acchhey din’ for the Indian realty sector has arrived,” said Shah adding, “Getting unbiased and well researched authentic data is the need of the hour today. And a lot of milestones can be achieved by staying united and focusing on the goals and missions.” Exponents from different realty sector specializations gathered next on the stage as the talk veered towards achieving the mammoth task of building affordable housing for all by 2022, a topic that has the entire realty sector of the country in rapt attention. Moderated by Nirav Kothary, Senior Vice President, Head – Industrial Services, JLL India, the panel discussion on ‘Housing for all by 2022: A dream or reality?’ witnessed an involved series of different perspectives by Hiren Gandhi, Founder &Principal Architect, Hiren A Gandhi & Associates, Amit Sahai, Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing), Somany Ceramics Ltd., Bhushan Avastthi, Associate Director, AEC – Hi-Tech iSolutions LLP, and Nilotpol Kar, Business Director, South Asia, BASF India Ltd. The second panel discussion on “RERA: A step towards an industry status?” was moderated by Sudhir Nair, Director, CRISIL Real Estate Ratings. This view-evoking discussion included the viewpoints of the likes of J S Augustine, Chief - Innovations & Strategies, Nirmal Lifestyle Ltd., Kavita Krishnan, News Head, Magicbricks NOW, Rocky Israni, Managing Director, PACIFICA Companies, Solicitor Paresh R Jani, Proprietor, Jani& Sons, and Sunil Parekh, Corporate Advisor, Zydus Group.
