The Ghaziabad Development Authority has finalised an 11-member conciliation forum as mandated by the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-Rera) to settle disputes between builders and homebuyers in the city. In Ghaziabad, about 12,000 buyers are currently entangled in disputes with developers. Officials said the forum comprises five members each from residents’ welfare associations and builders’ body Credai and one member from GDA. Their names have been sent to UP-Rera secretary Abrar Ahmed for approval. The 11-member conciliation forum includes Federation of Apartment Owners Association president Alok Kumar and TP Tyagi from RWA quota and Manoj Gaur from CREDAI’s quota, while GDA will be represented by its executive engineer RP Singh. In November last year, the UP-Rera had proposed the constitution of such forums across 15 development authorities and three industrial authorities in the state, including GDA.
