Ghaziabad development body to spend Rs 150 crore on rebuilding TulsiNiketan
The Ghaziabad Development Authority is planning to spend around Rs 150 crore on building flats in TulsiNiketan after razing the existing ones, which are in a dilapidated condition. The Authority plans to use 50% of the total area for constructing new flats while the rest will be used for developing group housing societies. It is currently conducting a joint survey of the area with residents to gain their consent. “TulsiNiketan residents recently met GDA officials last week over the matter. In the meeting, we shared with them our plan of building 2,000-odd LIG or EWS flats on 50% of the land. To recover the cost, the remaining land will be sold to builders for building group housing societies,” said KanchanVerma, vice-chairperson, GDA. “According to an initial estimate, we will have to spend Rs 100 crore in constructing new flats alone, while another Rs 50 crore will be spent on laying water and sewer networks in the area,” she added.
