Only a handful of labourers can be spotted working at the site of Today Callidora housing complex, bolstering the impression that homebuyers have — that there is a lack of urgency on the part of its developers to complete the project that is running almost four years behind the actual deadline. Spread over 12 acres in Sector 73, the project was launched by Today Homes and Infrastructure in 2011, promising 650 residential units within 42 months thereafter. Currently, only 50% of the project has been completed, allege homebuyers, who have been running from pillar to post for the past few years to get possession of their homes. Most of them claimed to have already paid over 80% of the costs, but are still clueless on when they will get possession. Buyers allege they have met the developer’s representatives at their site office on several occasions, receiving a new excuse and a new timeline every time. And adding salt to the injury of homebuyers is the slow pace of work. One of the buyers, Manish Poddar, said, "I have been waiting for this house for over six years now. It’s still far from completion. At the time of the booking, my office was very close to the project site. But now, I have moved to Mumbai. Being an end user, it doesn’t serve any purpose for me now." Currently, he is staying in a rented house in Mumbai because all his savings are stuck in the Callidora flat.
