Four held for over Rs 8 lakh real estate fraud

Police booked four persons associated with a Chandigarh-based real-estate firm for allegedly duping an Ambala-based advocate of Rs 8.43 lakh. The accused lured the victim with the promise of a 1-BHK flat near IT Park, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. On November 15, 2019, advocate Bhajan Singh of Amba Vihar, Ambala City lodged a complaint against four persons associated with the real-estate firm, Emerging India Real Assets Private Limited, including firm director Gurpreet Singh Sidhu of Chandigarh, agent Raj Rana of Karnal, wealth manager Monika Asija of Ambala, and Sushil of Chandigarh. The case was registered under Section 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Ambala City police station.
