A massive fire broke out at Mistry industrial estate in Marol, Andheri (East), early Monday morning. There were no casualties, but two firefighters - Jagdish Bangar, 30, and Vilas Chari, 52 - suffered minor injuries and were taken to Cooper hospital and discharged after treatment. Fire department officials said eight fire engines, six jumbo tankers and one ambulance was dispatched to the spot. They added that the fire started in an empty structure in the estate around 1am and was brought under control by 5.12 am. Around 10,000 square feet of the industrial building is reported to have been affected. Chief fire officer PS Rahangdale said, “The fire was confined to the electric wiring, moulding machines, plastic, boiler, cartons, documents and waste material in the manufacturing unit.” V Panigrahi, deputy chief fire officer, said, “The godown adjacent to the structure has burnt down. Its tin roof collapsed completely, hence there was no smoke.”
