Fadnavis announces Mumbai metro 5 and 6
In a major announcement, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has approved two new corridors of the Mumbai Metro which will extend into the Mumbai Metropolitan region (MMR region) linking Thane, Kalyan, and Bhiwandi. Both routes that were announced will benefit the city's eastern suburbs. CM Devendra Fadnavis also announced other infrastructure projects to manage traffic better. Devendra Fadnavis said, “The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has taken two important decisions. We have approved metro-5 between Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan. A circular route will also be formed for the same. The metro will give a connectivity boost in these locations. We also gave approval to Metro 6 between Swami Samarth Nagar-Jogeshwari-Vikhroli-Kanjurmarg. We have also approved DPR (Detailed Project Report) to build metro between Dahisar and Mira Road.”
