CP Kukreja Architects, L&T Selected For Ayodhya Smart City Planning

Delhi-based CP Kukreja Architects along with Canada-based infrastructure consultants Lea Associates and L&T have been selected to chalk out the blueprint of the master plan for Ayodhya. They will work in conjunction to prepare the vision document, implementation strategy and infrastructure development plan. CP Kukreja Architects are ranked amongst the top 100 architects in the world and top 5 in Asia. The three firms will chalk out the blueprint of town planning, transport, traffic, infrastructure, finance, economy, heritage, tourism, urban design and renewable resources, said, vice-chairman, Ayodhya Development Authority, Vishal Singh. The firms will conduct a survey of Ayodhya, evaluate demand, identify stakeholders and hold consultations on development of Ayodhya before tabling the vision document, which will encapsulate an integrated infrastructure plan for complete city of Ayodhya, while keeping untouched its intrinsic religious character. The detailed project report, and cost outlay of the 1,200 acre Smart Ayodhya and its rollout will be finalized by the three consultants. Ayodhya Development Authority had shortlisted eight global firms out of which four Indian companies were selected.  The evaluation committee of the Government of U.P. finally selected the consortium of CP Kukreja Architects, Lea Associates South Asia and Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on the basis of quality and cost.  According to Harvard-educated Urban Designer Dikshu C. Kukreja, Managing Principal of CP Kukreja Architects. “This is a historic moment and we are honored and privileged to be chosen along with our renowned international partners Lea Associates and L&T to create this Master plan. The city of Ayodhya has deep significance and sentiments attached with it we intend to transform Ayodhya into a world-class city amplifying its historic and religious values”.
