Chennai Corporation issues notice to actor Ramki for property tax default
The Greater Chennai Corporation on Wednesday stuck notices on the office building co-owned by actor couple Ramki and Nirosha for defaulting on payment of property tax for the last 13 years. Revenue officials attached to Teynampet (Zone 9) jurisdiction stuck the notice at the entrance to the property located on Anna Salai. Ramki owes the corporation Rs 1.17 lakh in unpaid property tax. According to senior corporation officials, the civic body is in the process of identifying tax defaulters who are believed to owe the corporation around Rs 220 crore.
