The Bombay high court on Monday rejected the bail applications of KedarVanjape and his wife, Sai, in the alleged Rs 2,091.11 crore economic fraud by developer D S Kulkarni (DSK) and his group of companies. Kedar, who held the position of an executive director and head of legal and planning in the DSK group, is the son-in-law of the DSK’s brother, Prakash. He and Sai, who are among the 14 arrested in the case so far, were apprehended on May 16 — a day before the Pune police filed the first chargesheet in the fraud. On August 10, the economic offences wing of the Pune police had filed a supplementary chargesheet against the Vanjapes and four others. The couple moved the high court after a special MPID court in Pune rejected their bail pleas on August 21, 2018.
