Bengaluru development body issues notices to 150 house owners in Banashankari
The Bangalore Development Authority on Tuesday served notices on nearly 150 house owners in Banashankari III Stage, V Block. This is the second attempt by the BDA to take back over five acres of land which it claims has been illegally occupied by the residents. The BDA had made a similar attempt in 2015 and the matter went to the High Court. With no stay order preventing it, BDA has issued the show-cause notices which the residents have to reply to within 10 days. The area in question is the one behind the Kamakya film theatre on the Ring Road. The BDA notice says it had acquired the land in 1979. “Lands in Sy.No.77/1 measuring 01 acre 28 guntas and Sy.No.77/2 measuring 03 acres, 18 guntas of Bangalore South Taluk, UttarahalliHobli, Kathriguppe Village, Bangalore, were notified for the formation of Banashankari 3rd Stage Layout vide Finally Notification No. UDD/72/MNJ/78 Dated 10.09.1979 and was issued in the Karnataka Gazette on 25.10.1979. The possession said lands were handed over to Engineering Section of BDA on 11.09.1986. Hence, you have no right over the said schedule property and that you are in unauthorised occupation of the said lands. Thus, the schedule property is a BDA acquired property. Thus you and anybody claiming under you do not get any manner of right, title or interest over the property. Hence, this notice.
