Bengaluru development body go powerless for 24 hours
Residents of flats in an incomplete apartment complex developed by BDA at Gunjur near Varthur had to go without power for 24 hours for having protested over an issue pertaining to their enclave. On Wednesday, the residents met BDA commissioner N Manjula and requested her to speed up pending work in their apartment complex. By the time they returned home, the contractors wanted to place a transformer in the temporary children’s play area but the women protested. By evening, the families realized power supply to their flats had been discontinued, forcing them to spend the night without electricity. Power supply was restored after 24 hours only after MLA AravindLimbavali intervened.
