Area near Jewar airport to be ‘aviation hub’
An aviation hub will also come up near the proposed Jewar airport and a project report has already been submitted by Ernst & Young, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority said on Friday. The move is significant as the airport is expected to start with an annual passenger handling capacity of 60 lakh when it opens by March 2023. The aviation hub will primarily cater to business and leisure travellers, officials said. The government is likely to float a tender and hire a developer for the Jewar airport once the model code of conduct is lifted.
