Architect Sonali Bhagwati Emphasizes on Smart and Green Urbanism at Havells Insignia ADEX Series Show

Held on Oct 01, the Havells Insignia presents ADEX, a series organised by Realty+ Masterclass, featured a talk by renowned architect & designer Ar. Sonali Bhagwati, President, DesignPlus. In her presentation she highlighted the renovation aspect of Old Delhi areas with minimal interventions. “The interface of the public and private domain were uplifted by preserving the historic architecture and elements like the façade, doors, jharokhas and jaalis along with management of the utilities to give a fresh and vibrant look to the streets that were in complete disarray,” she explained Vivek Yadav, Senior Vice President, Havells India Limited joining the conversation was of the view that connected appliances, products and buildings are the future that has been further accelerated by the pandemic. Concurring to the thought, Sonali Bhagwati giving example of her own projects stated, “Design forms the basis on which we can build upon smart spaces enabled by technology. However, a design set in its context is imperative for any development.” Sharing her thoughts on Work from Home Sonali Bhagwati said, “We may very soon see work pods at community level that can be utilized by people to work out of home. “Offices will now be more of organizational level spaces used by employees occasionally. The compartmentalisations in design are disappearing with fading of boundaries between the functions.” Vivek Yadav added “We are increasingly witnessing demand for automation products and contactless operations solutions by home and building owners.” Remal Behl, Head for Enterprise Business, Havells India Ltd concluding the session stated, “Design and technology go hand in hand in current scenario and with all stakeholders working together, we can achieve smart, liveable and human centric spaces that are the need of the hour.” Watch the full conversation at www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv3ucnP7q8A
