A real estate giant promoting a mega venture beside Nagarjuna University has roped in Telugu film star Mahesh Babu as its brand ambassador. The city based realtor has proposed to build 6,000 flats in three phases for which a short film starring the popular actor will be shot. The plot will revolve around skyscrapers in China and the aim is to have the firm’s apartments sell like hot cakes with the help of Mahesh Babu’s charismatic personality. Another actor Srikanth has been reportedly hired by a developer at Ketanakonda in the capital region on the other side of Amravati. However TDP MP and Jayabheri founder Maganti Muralimohan’s venture at Kunchanapalli may not require a campaigner as its promoter already is a filmstar. The real estate market was thrilled to know Amravati as the new capital. Expectations started flying high as they expected people from across the state to flock to the region along with 10,000 odd secretariat employees who are to shortly relocate to the region. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on different public platforms claimed that the capital region’s population to reach 1.10 crore by 2035 from 58.74 lakh as per 2011 census data. However, Urban experts pooh-poohed such projections.
