Ahmedabad civic body collects heftyproperty fine
Business owners at DevAurum Commercial Complex on Thursday paid a hefty fine of Rs10.4 lakh to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to get their sealed premises opened. The buildings in the complex had been sealed over fire-safety issues. A majority of businessmen owning space at DevAurum heaved a sigh of relief after 208 offices and shops were unsealed by the civic body in the two high-rises that did not catch fire but were still sealed after investigation found that fire-safety systems there had been compromised, leading to risk of life for the occupants.
