Ahmedabad civic body cancels builders' licences for forgery
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has cancelled the licences of Dharmdev Infrastructure Private Limited and MH Infrastructure after the authorities found that builders had forged documents to convert agricultural land into non-agricultural land. According to officials, Dharmdev Infrastructure sought permission to build commercial units in the Narol-Ranipur area under the name “Swaminaryan Business Park”. Officials said the scheme was developed by Dharmdev Infrastructure — which has Umang Thakkar and partners as proprietors — and MH Infrastructure, helmed by Neel Umang Thakkar and partners. The firms sought permission to build 495 units in six blocks having basement, ground floor and three floors. The firms have completed construction of 68 units. A release from the government said the builders approached the authorities for for building use permission, but the deputy collector (non-agriculture) in his opinion stated that the builders had forged documents to get agricultural land converted into non-agricultural.
